The area: 150 km of land, unique in the world

The areas best suited to Bergamot cultivation are limited and characterised by a particular microclimate, which helps the peel develop its distinctive aromatic notes. The quality of the essence depends on a combination of natural factors: small differences between daytime and night-time temperatures, mineral-rich soils, water availability for summer irrigation, exposure and protection from stronger winds. Only a few areas in the world offer such favourable conditions for Bergamot intended for extraction. For this reason, careful cultivation, harvesting and peel processing are essential to obtain an essence with an intense, clean and recognisable aromatic profile.
